I have a question.
And maybe you good people can help me out with a niggling little problem I’m having…
It so happens that I think summer programming is some of the best on television. I’ve found some of my favorite series during the warmer months, stuff that has really hooked me, left me anticipating every new moment.
The problem comes when that original programming has finished the eight to ten or however many episodes they happen to run. It’s not just a matter of waiting two or three months for new programming to resume. It can be nine to ten months! That’s almost a year!
So that by the time it comes back, I seem to have lost most of my interest.
And it doesn’t matter whether it’s the same actors, writers, and directors, or whether the continuity has been perfect–they just never seem to have the same interest for me. I’ve noticed it with “True Blood”, “Once Upon a Time”, The Newsroom (to a lesser degree)…whatever. They are programs I WANT to be involved in. But that extra long wait between seasons seems to kill the thrill for me.
Is it just me? Anybody else notice this happening to them?
