Just another damn group blog!
When I submitted my ghost story to Cobblestone Press in August, I never expected it to come out in time for Halloween.
There is nothing like a little murder and a haunting or two to get you in the mood for All Hallows’ Eve (and a little kiss and nuzzle don’t hurt either). Ghost of a Chance is set to release THIS Friday… WOOT!
It was the first paranormal romance I wrote. And actually to me it’s a romantic suspense that has a twist for a secondary character: the heroine’s sister just so happens to be dead, and hanging around. Apparently that is what makes it a paranormal. *VBG*
Ghost of a Chance was also my first attempt at Nano (National Novel Writing Month). That year I wrote my first (and to date, only) paranormal book and I won the contest as I got over 50K on the story. I remember getting ready for the contest, I had a glimmer of an idea for the story it was more or less the dynamics of the two sisters: one of whom happens to be dead. How or why I came up with that, I don’t quite remember, it was four years ago.
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, Ghost of a Chance was one of those books that just flowed when I started. Yes, I did have to go back over it later and fill in a couple of holes in the middle I’d kinda glossed over the solving of the crime when I was writing for the Nano contest. But I like to work out the whos, hows and whys of stories (I *heart* plotting!).
It always amazes me when ideas gel. My mother the other day says to me I don’t know how you get all the ideas for your stories. Hell if I know either. But they sure are fun to write. It’s so exciting to get that glimmer and follow it through to publication.
Blurb: Ryan and Harry Troutman as the pair fight each other, fight their growing attraction and fight an unknown assailant as they try to hash out the mess left in the wake of a will. Throw in interference from Ruth-Ann’s long dead sister, another resident ghost and the manor’s aging butler surrounded by intrigue and danger and the couple will either drive each other crazy or fall madly in love.

That’s an excellent cover, Denni. That guy is dreamy.
You got more out of Nano than I did. I’m still rewriting the book I wrote during Nano a year ago. Most of that stuff I’m trashing because the plot was too simplistic. I’ve since added more twists and turns, deleted some characters, morphed them into others to the point that my Nano book doesn’t even exist anymore.

The cover is very well done and fits the title nicely.
