Just another damn group blog!
So you go to bed the night before your blog post day with a so-so idea. You only hope you will remember it by morning (’cause frankly you’re too lazy and tired to get up and write it down). Lo and behold morning comes (earlier than normal thanks to a van and a mechanic meet-up: which cost $1400…GAW!) and you remember said post. Only thing…. it’s stoo-pid!
See you had this whole idea of exploring why writers can give their characters strengths and responsibilities they themselves don’t often give, well themselves. Like having a feisty character who has the courage to go after what they want. Me, well I know what I want, but do I have the courage… naw. Do I give myself even permission to fail trying? Um, no. But my characters, they are brave, strong and willing to do what needs to be done–at least by the end of the book anyway.
Like I said, it seemed like a good topic as I fell asleep last night.
So other than my little feeble attempt to juxtapose a write’s abilities, permissions and foible vs. the characters… I GOT NOTHING TODAY.
Whatchya got?
