Just another damn group blog!
Sooooo I’ve been working on a new proposal the last couple of weeks, picking at it, fleshing it out, world-building. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the main characters…except for the heroine female protagonist
You see, Lethe is kind of…Sweet. And Nice. And did I mention sweet? Now I know a good writer would take on the challenge of writing a character that’s out of the norm for them…but I’m not a good writer
I posed the question on Twitter, “Did I have to have a heroine female protagonist?”
To which my agent replied, “Yes because you do them so well.”
I do strong, smart, spunky, tough, flawed, interesting and in this case, tattooed women well. I don’t do…Sweet. So I threw out the old Lethe, wrote a personal ad for my hero Male Protagonis and VOILA! I found the perfect match! She’s petite, with bleach blonde hair that has blue tips and she’s got big grey eyes and tattoos….all the way down one arm and she’s really Really COOL!  Â
So, do you write the same types of characters? Is this good or bad? And what have you learned about your writing process lately?
