Cry Baby
I recently watched one of my favorite all time tearjerker movies, and no matter how many times I see it, it ALWAYS makes me bawl like a baby.
The film was Love Story. Released in December 1970, the movie was a first of its kind. I was just a kid at the time, but it made a huge impression on me. I think Love Story more than any other film turned me into a romance junkie. The characters, the movie score, the star-crossed lover aspect. Everything about it rocked. Breaking new ground, the film earned 7 Academy Award Nominations including Best Picture, Best Actor and Best Actress. Ali MacGraw and Ryan O’Neil shined, especially MacGraw. Her Jenny was feisty, intelligent, vulnerable and real, while O’Neil’s Oliver made almost every female who watched him melt.
Here are a few of my favorite Love Story moments:

What movies always make you cry no matter how many times you see them?

don’t hit me… but I have NEVER seen that movie!
what makes me bawl…hmm… thinking…. yeah, I got nothing, not that I don’t, but I am drawing a blank. I went and looked through the DVD I have–there are 4 types: 80’s movies I grew up on, chick flicks/romantic-comedy, Die Hard type, or Jane Austen. I don’t own one movie that’s a tearjerker. Well I take that back, they are just not the norm for tearjerkers: The Outsiders–when I was 12. Star Wars III–the sceen w/ Anikin and the little bitty Jedi’s and Narnia ~ pertty much the entire last quarter. And the latter two are the kids’ movies… so hmm… tough questions–I’ll be thinking on this one all dang day.
thanks a lot…LOL
“Beaches” and “Steel Magnolias” always make me cry like a baby.
There was French movie called “Blue” with Juliette Binoche which makes me cry everytime I see it.
Oh, and another movie which only had one scene which made me bawl: “The Champ” with Ricky Schreoder and Jon Voight. Champ is telling him to go away and Ricky is crying and begging to stay. Man, heartbreaker.
And who can remain dry-eyed at the end of “Pay it Forward?”
Last but not least, in “Casino Royale” when Daniel Craig wrecks that beautiful Aston Martin. It hurt so bad.
The 1968 version of Romeo and Juliet.
y’know, I was watching DEEP IMPACT last night and the scene where the mom hands the daughter the baby and tells them to hurry–bawling (could be the head cold–but I bawl every time
)
The season premiere of CSI of all things… bawled!
However, if I KNOW a movie will make me cry 9 times outta 10 I won’t watch it unless I need a good cry–same w/ books.
