My friend Jackie Barbosa has issued a challenge! 30 k in 30 days! Can’t do it you say?
Lemme break it down for you.
7500 words a week.
1000 words a day.
That’s 4 pages a day people!And at the end of 30 days you could have a) a proposal for your agent*cough* or b) a completed novella for submission!
Are you in? I’m in. I’ll be reporting on my blog and I have at least one proposal I could use 30k on. I’d prefer two buttttttttt the other needs lost of worldbuilding so it’ll have to simmer (as much as I hate to leave it).
I’ve got 18k of a novella to complete and then I can fix my other MS and finish writing it. So this sounds grand to me if the rules aren’t against writing on old mss.
No rules against old WIPs. I’m doing it because I have two novellas in progress that have to be finished by the end of the month. I’m blogrolling everyone who’s in on my blog, and we’ll have periodic check ins there and/or at the Mavens blog (http://manuscriptmavens.blogspot.com).
Jackie I’ve got ya’ll on my google reader so I’ll get the updates to check in!
I’d love to, but in the 7 yrs I’ve been writing I’ve never stuck with a biaw type challenge. Good luck to all who participate, though!
well hell guess I should have read this before I posted….
Stephanie Bond had a great wrokshop at nationals and broke down how many pages for her to crank out the half dozen books she does a year and it was comperable to that… I guess in light of my whiny post, I’m in!
