Procrastinators Anonymous
We know them well. The temptations we face every day. They beckon us to follow and like a babe to mother’s milk, we’re there. What are your 4 favorite ways to procrastinate? Mine are:
1. movies
2. websurfing
3. “Research” ![]()
4. audio books
How about you? Don’t worry. I won’t tell a soul. :-)
PS: I’m sure you “dedicated” writers won’t even be curious about what lies below. Only slackers like me will be tempted to proceed.
1. Fun Triva is dangerous. You could get lost for hours.
2. Play Trivial Pursuit
3. A cool memory game.
4. WARNING: You won’t be able to stop. This place is truly addictive. I especially like the string game.
5. Cool Quiz has a bunch of time wasting/writing avoidance activities.
6. Play Deal or No Deal
7. Are you a geography enthusiast? Try this.
8. Stupid videos galore here.
Don’t blame me if you get nothing done today.

Bubble Shooter is the worse thing created. I’m not going to post a link, but if you google it you’ve been forewarned. And when you resurface twenty hours later I’ll be around to say, “told you so.”
OMG, I LOVE the little Da Vinci smiley! So cute!!
Fortunately, I’m not really big on the game stuff. My weakness is the Myst/Riven game set, which is strictly reserved for multiple days off from work.
Procrastinating?

1) Websurfing (other people’s lives have GOTTA be more interesting than mine).
2) Research tangents. Google can be Satan in disguise. I may go there to look up one simple fact…which leads to another, and another, and another. I prefer “insatiable curiosity” to “procrastination”.
3) Power naps. Yeah, that’s what I insist on calling them.
Just what I needed… more sources of distraction…
Melissa,
I’m going to Google the Bubble Shooter game. I can’t help myself. My curiosity won’t leave me alone!
Raine,
Power naps?
OMG! Now that’s one I haven’t heard. And I hear you on the “research” tangents. I go on those every so often. What’s hilarious is to think about the original subject I started with. One time I was looking up the Gaelic word for Lighthouse. An hour and several bewildering minutes later, I found myself looking up Korean BBQ recipes!
I had NO idea how I got there.
Sorry, Lynn. Can’t say I didn’t warn ya!
Melissa,
I just went to the bubble game. You were right. It took considerable effort to tear myself away!
I’d have to say that TV is the thing that causes me to procrastinate the most. And it isn’t that we don’t have DVR(like TIVO), because we do. I just have this habit of watching shows when they are actually on. Then it is suddenly 9 or 10 at night and I wonder where all the time has gone.
LindaC
Linda,
TV is the least of my distraction problems. I usually leave it on MUTE during the day and only unmute it at night when I’m not writing. DVDs are a big problem for me. Since I’m on my computer during the day, I’m always tempted to POP a DVD into it.
Told you so.
just what I need! more games…I heart games…
uh, those bananas…my eyes….
