Has Anyone Read????
Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews?
Mercenary Kate Daniels cleans up urban problems of a paranormal kind. But her latest prey, a pack of undead warriors, presents her greatest challenge.
Or…….
Unshapely Things by Marc Del Franco?
In the alleys of the decrepit Boston neighborhood known as the Weird, fairy prostitutes are turning up dead. The crime scenes show signs of residual magic, but the Guild, which polices the fey, has more “important” crimes to investigate and dumps the case on human law enforcement.
Boston police call in Connor Grey, a druid and former hotshot Guild investigator-whose magical abilities were crippled after a run-in with a radical environmentalist elf. As Connor battles red tape and his own shortcomings, he realizes that the murders are not random, but part of an ancient magical ritual. And if Connor can’t figure out the killer’s M.O., the culmination of the spell might just bring about a worldwide cataclysm.
Hmmmmm I ordered the first book but you know, there’s so much to choose from, I feel like a kid in a candy store! There’s a couple others I’m eyeing but I can’t remember hearing anything about them (Karen Chances Casandra Palmer series comes to mind). What are you reading? What are you looking forward to in the upcoming months? And how do you keep track of them all?
And on another note, if you run someone over with a 76 Monte Carlo, do they go over or under? (let’s assume for the sake of argument they’re drunk and walking down a dark road and you hit them going about 50 miles an hour).
Talk amongst yourselves…..

at 50 MPH I’d say over, slower it might drag the person down.
I have not read a book in so very long . . . well I did read the Bell Witch book (which you were right about . . .dammit . .
)
I’m going for under - at that speed it would seem the logical thing, yet I failed physics.
I’m reading Annette Blair’s Sex and the Psychic Witch. Enjoying it so far. I’m looking forward to the new Dresden book in April.
Over.
Bounce off the windshield.
Roll off the back, which was rather long.
V-8 engine holding nothing back—over.
Told you Dennie!
You’d think at 50 it’d send them flying, knock them down, then you could run them over. The fact we’re even HAVING this discussion is
Bailey I wish I’d found dresden BEFORE his series got so far along. I always feel like i’ll never catch up
Raine…are you speaking from experience?
Hmmmm maybe a 79 ford pickup. I had one. Hmmmm
Oh and Miss Raine you have two books on the way
Well it would send them flying but over. Hit the windshield then the person slams on the breaks and body falls with a huge thump and you could run them over…
The glass breaks inward and there fore the body falls in. You know it could depend on the size of the person as well. My butt would just stop the car….
Your butt would NOT stop the car anymore htan mine would. Yes, slamming on the breaks would throw the body. Hmmmmm then you could run them over.
*sigh* I guess I”m going to have to call the cops.
yeah do that. I told Kelly that you were asking how to kill someone. He just stared at me. I told him that you were sick of the bambi haters……..
yeah do that.
911 what are you reporting?
Um actually, I just have a question. If you run someone over–
You ran someone over?
No i said IF you ran someone over in a 76 Monte Carlo–
You’re driving a 76 MOnte Carlo….
Well, hitting the brakes is a different story.
But if you’re doing 50 straight-on, they’re gonna bounce on that car somewhere…
Experience? Moi??
And you could always ask Bernard…he does cars for a living, lol.
Two books? Yum.

And you have a crit coming (don’t hit me…)
“….if you run someone over with a 76 Monte Carlo, do they go over or under? (let’s assume for the sake of argument they’re drunk and walking down a dark road and you hit them going about 50 miles an hour)”
Um, Cece? You’re beginning to worry me even MORE than you usually do….
I watched this one episode of CSI where a taxi hit a man and he went under - but maybe he fell down in front of the taxi before it hit him, I’m soooo confused.
Couldn’t you just blow ‘em up?
…I watched this one episode of CSI where a taxi hit a man and he went under…
But I think the SPEED is an important factor here, ladies–also the height of the chassis. If it’s a truck or SUV, ok, or if it’s going at a slower speed…
Oh well hell, let’s just all get together and go out & run somebody over, ‘kay?
LOL………I was waiting on Denise to say that Vee!!!!!!
Ok so instead of a Monte Carlo I guess I AM going to use a truck
Raine - I’m game. Can I choose the target?
I’d say - OVER. Mostly because of the way the front end it. My sister had a white 76 Monte Carlo when we were in high school. I had a black 75 Cutlass Supreme. It was sweet! They didn’t sit high off the ground and the grills on both were pure metal! I bet they would really tear someone up.
I know mine did a hell of a job when I hit a school bus with it. (OK, I wasn’t speeding and it was only a little bump). I was 15 for goodness sake.
But, then again, I did wreck my dad’s month old dodge pickup when I was 11. I ran it into a house. That house was sturdy I tell ya!
BTW, does hitting stuff on a farm road, that you know went flying over the car, count? A truck would be really messy. Possibly a lot more body damage. I’m telling ya, my cutlass supreme and my sisters monte carlo were heavy V8 engines that would move, baby. None of that fiberglass crap!
And on another note, if you run someone over with a 76 Monte Carlo, do they go over or under? (let’s assume for the sake of argument they’re drunk and walking down a dark road and you hit them going about 50 miles an hour).
Hmmm…I’d think they’d go over. Or wouldnt the body (or person depending on the end results) be projected away from the car? I think because on impact the body would automatically flip up and over the hood. Hmm…Good question. Very good question.
Anywho. The first book looks interesting and I need some new reading material. I just finished Iron Kissed, WHICH WAS SUPER AWESOME, and now I need something new to read.
I was waiting on Denise to say that Vee!!!!!!
oh no, I have lost me edge . . .
I will say, I am ever so glad I knwo hwta kinda car you drive.
I still vote for over though, but if you need to use a human speed bump, slam the brakes, throw him and hit the gas!
I emailed Karin TAbke and asked her to ask her hubby!
