Everyone’s doing it
So booktrailers are all the rage right now. Okay–they are an extremely useful promotional tool. (and they’re uber-fun too!)
Just about any genre you can think of caters the trailer to reflect the mood, ambiance of the book. You can get an idea for the theme of the book and maybe have a giggle while you’re at it.
I balked and whined and haven’t had one up to this point, but . . . I finally decided it was about time I caught up. For the first time ever, I present:
Enjoy . . . and let me know what you think!

It’s cute!
I know they’re supposed to be all the rage, but I’ve yet to meet one reader who a) said they bought a book because of the trailer or b) raved about trailers.
It’s a great trailer….but I’m still not sold on the concept of doing them, or that they’re useful in selling books.
Thanks Ruby!
Cece–I’d agree if I had to pay for it–but I will say it was fun to create it and all . . .
Denise, it’s absolutely wonderful!!!! I don’t know how you did it, but you made that B&B seems sexy as hell. Great job, girlie girl.
xoxoxoxo
love and adore U,
Sharon
It’s lovely! I have one for Love & Lore that Angela made, but I don’t know if I’d take the time to learn to do one myself. Even my procrastination activities have limits, y’know.
SHARO-OOON! Hey girlfriend thanks for your kind words! I could TOTALLY make one for your literati–let me know
Sela - it’s really not that hard, the longest part is finding the pics to use (I went through about 5000–so yeah, that does take a while, but once you have those it’s not so bad and kinda fun to-boot!)
OMG, she’s a techno Goddess now!!!
oops, hit send too soon…
Anyway, I was going to say, I have MovieMaker, but I also have Plus! Photo Story. Also works pretty well. I think it is a might easier for a newbie, too.
Hey this looks great! Well done and very professional looking
LOL–Lynn, I wish! I made one for my kiddo (used AC/DC–he thought it was a riot)
Thanks Sandy!
a funny thing . . . two (not one but TWO) of the kids asked me how I found a pic of people wearing my t-shirt
Very catchy! Intriguing! And don’t worry about the people who say no one ever bought a book because of a trailer. Sometimes readers sort of keep track of an author in their minds, and maybe they’ll see two or three trailers or read several reviews before they decide to take a chance on you. After all, you are asking them to commit their hearts to your characters and story, and they don’t want to waste their hearts.
Hey Delle–lets hope!
