Lucky Bitch
I am a lucky bitch!
My BGF Lynn offered to drive me to Stephenville next weekend for the Hastings Book Signing (so I can write). BTW I’m doing a book signing next weekend with Cathy Clamp and CT Adams, Rachel Caine, Lyn LaFleur, Carole Nelson Douglas & PN Elrod).
By the Way I got this from Cathy’s blog:
The signing will be at Hastings Bookstore, 2900 W. Washington St., in Stephenville, TX. This is a nice sized city about an hour south of Dallas on Highway 67/377 (toward Brownwood) and will be held Saturday, October 20, 2007, from 11-2. The store is right on the highway and has a great big parking lot (all the better for LOTS of our fans to come!) Remember, if you can’t attend, but want a signed book from any of the authors, call the store and talk to either Cale or Donna at (254)965-5473. They can arrange to make the sale by phone, get the books signed and ship them to you.

I said on Friday at my blog that I was going to do a health blog but I was too lazy, so I’ll do it now :)
You, he you! Not taking care of yourself is no laughing matter. It’s nothing to brag about or joke about, so shut the fuck up already. There’s nothing funny about skipping that yearly pap, year after year after year. I should know….I skipped mine for more than I’ll admit too. Lucky for me, my last pap came back normal. It’s not fun to swing your legs in the stirrups and it’s not fun to get your boobs mashed. It’s even less fun to be sick and not know why. Trust me, I know.
Here’s a newsflash for you. You PAY for health insurance for a REASON. USE IT!
The bottom line is, if you can’t take care of YOU, then sure as hell can’t take care of anyone else. If you’re young, here’s another news flash…you’re not bulletproof. It’ll all catch up with you–just take my word for it. If I’d known ten or even five years ago what I know now, I would have taken better care of myself, I would have exercised more, I would have started changing my eating habits that much sooner. And I would have gone to the doctor sooner. I encourage all of you, if you feel bad, or you feel run down or you feel depressed or achey or you haven’t had that pap or that mamogram to go to the doctor. And more importantly be proactive about your health.
So here’s my health tip of the week: (oooooo MIK is gonna get me) how much caffeine have you had today? Excess caffeine can cause dehydration, and if you suffer from IBS, PMS, chronic fatigue, ulcers, kidney stones or have an iron deficiency you should think twice. Believe it nor not, if you gave it up, you probably wouldn’t notice after a while. Having that morning cup o joe is as much psychological as anything else, so don’t tell me you can’t live without it–you’d be surprised at what you could live without if the doctor said your life depended on it.
Do you have a health tip you’d like to share?

Yeah take your vitamins, get your mammogram, go see your Gyn yearly, rest when you need it, sleep when you need it, cry when you need it. Take time for yourself and do things for yourself. Stop worrying so damn much about tomorrow and focus on today because you don’t want me showing up at your door. Oh I am a Hospice Nurse and I deal with death daily and these people dying from cancer tell me
this. “Live like you were dying” Technically we all are…
Seriously people you can learn alot from a dying person, it sure in the hell makes your problems seem like nothing………..
cut my coffee…………..
nuh-uh!
Yeah, here’s a health tip for you:
Here’s a great way to burn calories–:hump:
That stupid bed didn’t show up. So once again, here’s a great way to burn calories.
My health tip… Water, water, water. BTW, Dr. Oz (Oprah’s medical guy) says 8 glasses is probably too much for some people. If your eating a healthy diet (fruits, veggies, etc.) you’ll get all the extra water you need. He says - drink if you’re thirsty, but take a drink before you eat. Most people don’t realize it is thirst rather than hunger they are experiencing.
Now, if would only take the advice myself…
I got this from a diet and fitness newsletter I get:
Remember no pain, no gain? Not so, say experts at the America on the Move Foundation. In fact, that approach is likely to fail because such dramatic lifestyle overhauls are rarely sustainable for very long.
Instead, the key to lasting success is to focus on the small changes. They suggest these two: Aim to add 2,000 steps to your day (about one mile) and to cut 100 calories from what you eat (about 1 tablespoon of butter.) Over a year’s time, adopting those two tiny changes could leave you 30 pounds lighter! Now that’s a change you could live with, right?
cut my coffee…………..
nuh-uh!
Then don’t cry about your mid-afternoon energy slump

Lynn……and if you’re overweight, I’ve heard you should actualy drink MORE htan 8 but i don’t know the formula.
BTW you CAN over-hydrate your body and get very sick….
Tanya…….
LOL
Ruby…….you get the award for best advice
Don’t drink your water freezing cold. I find I drink more when it’s cool, not icy.
Sela…..I like mine just after the ice has melted
I’m going for the “I’ll drink when I’m thirsty and if I get in 8 or more… Yea!” If not, I’ll live. Supposedly it’s the fluid that counts. So even the water in your coffee counts, but you have to have additional plain water or other fluid to make up for the extra the caffeine will strip from you. I do love that diuretic effect though.
