Looking Back
All over the blog-o-sphere, people are talking New Years Resolutions and what they hope to accomplish in 2007. For me, my goal is to finish painting the house. :)
I firmly believe you can’t know where you’re going if you don’t know where you’ve been. And that we too often dismiss our accomplishments as not enough, or don’t take the time to enjoy them the way we should.
Anyway I though I’d ask a different question as we usher in a new year (and can you BELIEVE it’s 2007? sheesh! this year is my 20 year class reunion).
Okay…okay….What did you accomplish in 2006 (whether it was a goal or not)?
I got healthy, something I’ll continue to work on probalby for years to come.
I sold and I signed with a new agent who I adore.
And even though it doesn’t seem like a lot, I read more.

[…] ;) I stole this from Steph! And I”m over at SFC, taking a look back at 2006. What rockstar’s groupie are you? […]
On the writing front, I didn’t accomplish a whole lot on paper, circumstances kind of got in the way. But I accomplished a lot in my personal growth. I put myself out there, flaws and all. I allowed myself to make mistakes that everyone could see and I survived it. In my family, mistakes were a source of endless, merciless ridicule, to the point where I was afraid to fail in public. So blogging helped with that. I surrounded myself with writers - your creative juices feed me; even the negative stuff. For the first time in my life I feel like I belong somewhere. Thank you.
Oh my, a serious post. Shhhhh, don’t tell Raine.
Reading more is a lot. And signing an agent and selling is GREAT. Best to you and the rest of the chicas in 2007.
I sold three books
… I never thought I’d sell one much less three
…Oh my, a serious post. Shhhhh, don’t tell Raine.
Too late.
…What did you accomplish in 2006?
Okay. Must be honest.
I didn’t accomplish a damn thing in 2006. ‘Twas the year from hell. Nothing professionally, creatively, or personally. Pretend was released, but that was accepted at the end of 2005. So no. Nothing. A complete bust.
BUT…did ENDURE the year from hell. And for what it’s worth to anybody out there having a hard time—you’re a lot stronger than you think. Hang on.
Okay. Hmmm.
I survived. (The first half of the year wasn’t fun.)
I didn’t write anything new, but I sold four books.
I finally got to read Rowdy’s story.
I have some teacher accomplishments, but I won’t bore you with those, LOL.
Happy New Year, y’all!
Got my house ready to sell. It went on the market today.
I sold five books.
Had two releases.
One revision request.
A CAPA cover nomination.
Landed a new agent.
Started to trust myself personally and professionally. (Priceless)
Let’s see. I…
Sold my first novella.
Went to RWA.
Retired from being an Air Force wife.
Got house ready to sell, sold, moved, bought new one. Include 5 weeks from hell living in a hotel room.
Got kids moved into new school with minimum of fuss.
Got contracts for two more stories.
Found some new-to-me authors to read.
Read a lot.
Overall, it was a pretty good year!
I don’t think there’s enough time or space for me to list what I did in 2006. Let’s just say I lost 225 pounds on my left ring finger. ;) (And, by the way, it was the BEST thing that’s ever happened to me.)
I also sold three books to Samhain in 2006.
And bought a house. All on my own.
And got a promotion at work.
See? I told you. I could go on, but I’ll shut the hell up. haha
You’ve had a great year, Cece!!! Congrats :D I do have goals, and getting an agent is one of them. And I’m so with you on the getting healthy aspect. We’re accountable!!
